  • Overview of this position: Responsible for maintaining public safety and enforcing state statutes. Primary duties include patrolling designated areas, responding to emergencies and calls for assistance, conducting investigations, writing reports, making arrests, investigating victims of human trafficking, searching for illegal contraband, stolen vehicles, etc.  A CTED Officer is a law enforcement professional who specifically focuses on the regulation and enforcement of laws related to the commercial transportation industry. This can include overseeing the safety and compliance of commercial vehicles, drivers, and carriers that transport goods and passengers for business purposes. Conducting safety inspections on commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, etc.) to ensure they meet safety standards and are in compliance with state and federal laws. Qualified applicants must pass a physical fitness test and report writing assignment.
    • Troop DBolivar, Sunflower, Leflore, Grenada, Washington, Humphreys, Holmes, Montgomery, and Attala counties.
    • Troop H: Leake, Neshoba, Kemper, Scott, Newton, Lauderdale, Smith, Jasper, and Clarke counties
