Mark M. LeVaughn, M.D.
Dr. Mark M. LeVaughn, Chief Medical Examiner, is from Steubenville, Ohio. He received his M.D. from the University of Tennessee in 1983, and continued on to complete his Pathology residency at the West Virginia University Medical Center and his Forensic Pathology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee. He received his American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and Forensic Pathology in 1991, and holds medical licenses in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, New York and Mississippi.
Brent Davis, M.D.
Dr. Brent Davis, Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, was born and raised in the Midwest. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served for six years as an Infantry Marine, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1994. Dr. Davis received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and graduated with Dean’s Honors. He went to medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and completed a four year residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in Greenville, North Carolina. He completed his fellowship in Forensic Pathology in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Davis is board-certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic, Clinical, and Forensic Pathology. He has a license to practice medicine in Mississippi, and has held licenses in Tennessee, California, and Washington.
Dr. Davis has three children who are in undergraduate studies at Florida State, Ole Miss, and CU Boulder. His wife is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corp.
