As the Director of the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Assistant Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Charles Haynes oversees the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Training Academy, the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division, and Administrative Operations for the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Colonel Haynes was previously serving as the Lt. Colonel and Director of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. Haynes has nearly 20 dedicated years of law enforcement experience including work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is a graduate of Mississippi Highway Patrol Cadet Class # 57 and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Class 276.
