UPDATE: Driver Service Bureau Experiencing Statewide Issues

Submitted by bailey.martin on

JACKSON, Miss., - The Driver Service Bureau is still experiencing a software interface issue due to the recent system upgrade. This is not the result of any internal matter within the Department of Public Safety. We are working diligently with our vendor to resolve this as quickly as possible.

All statewide Driver Service Bureau locations will be open tomorrow, February 25, 2024, operating under regular business hours but with limited services available. The services offered will include:

  • Firearm permits
  • Identification cards not related to driver’s licenses
  • Court required registry

If you are renewing a firearm permit, we encourage you to visit our website to download the required forms and submit your application by mail. Click here to take you to the website.

The Driver Service Bureau has achieved significant milestones over the past four years and remains committed to delivering the highest quality service to Mississippi residents. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue promptly.

As previously released, we will work with our state and local partners to address any issues with licenses or credentials that may have expired during this time period. Please continue to monitor our website and social media for additional updates.
