In order to attend the Ms Law Enforcement Officers` Training Academy (MLEOTA) you must meet the eligibility requirements set forth by the Board on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (BLEOST). You no longer have to be employed by any law enforcement agency. Any candidate who meets the eligibility requirements may pay their own tuition cost to attend MLEOTA. You are required to attend a twelve (12) week entry level course and upon successful completion you are eligible to move into the job market in the field of law enforcement anywhere in the State of Ms. Your certification will be complete when you are hired by either a city, county or state agency. The Ms Highway Patrol training program is a different training program altogether and applications must be submitted through the Ms Highway Patrol.
