The Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol consists of nine (9) enforcement Troops across the state that are charged with providing day to day law enforcement and support of local agencies in the interest of public safety. Troopers assigned to district offices are the first line of response to public need in the state. They patrol all highways in their districts and comprise a visible force to serve as an assurance of protection and a deterrent for those who would seek to cause harm or chaos. Troopers also enforce state and federal traffic laws on highways, make arrests and provide assistance to motorists in time of need.
