The Fleet Operations Division has the responsibility of acquiring and maintaining all MS Department of Public Safety vehicles. This division is responsible for overseeing the Fleet Maintenance Shop, an in-house repair and maintenance facility for all DPS vehicles.
The Communications Division is located within the Fleet Operations Division and major responsibilities include purchasing and installing electronic communications equipment; keeping up with technical applications of radios to facilitate its uses; maximizing the equipment in special details such as natural disasters, manhunts and life-saver initiatives. Communications staff provide a support role for officers on special details such as natural disasters, manhunts and life-saver initiatives.
