NHTSA conducted an assessment of the Mississippi TR program through a final report dated August 26, 2013. The MOHS will request for an assessment to take place of the TR program to take place during the FY19 year to remain in compliance with CFR 1300.22.
The TR assessment reviews six primary data elements of a TR system, which are: Crash, Driver, Vehicle, Roadway, Citation/Adjudication and Injury Surveillance. In all six components the assessment also looks into timeliness, accuracy, completeness, uniformity, integration and accessibility.
During the 2013 TR Assessment, the overall weighted assessment rating for Mississippi was 87.3% for the State Traffic Records Committee, 87.3% for Strategic Planning for the TR System and 63.6 for Data Use and Integration.
